HomeMy WebLinkAboutNovember 16, 1972 Regular Meeting City Planning Commission November 15, 1972 The meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m, by Chairman Bowers. Present were members "hanks, Bradshaw, P,L,11, McBee and Mc1%hnama and Chairman Bowers. Absent being members Burton, Dixon and ore vacancy. Also present were Jimrayes and City Administrator Hutton. Aithout objection and upon general consent of the Commission the minutes of the regular meeting of October 17, 1972 were approved as mailed. The proposal for ".Leisure lakes Village' having been previously presented to the City Council and subsequently referred by that body of the City Planning Commission was next presented to the Commission for consideration and discussion. The artistts rendition of the proposal was displayed and explained in the same manner to the Council as had been presented to theCouncil by 11'r. harry Elmore, agent for the developer. A general and complete discussion was held on the facts available. A motion by McBee, seconded by Banks to hold a decision on this matter in obeyance for further consideration, pending the acquisition of pertinent information necessary to make a definite decision was carried by a unanimous affirmative vote of Conuni.ssionmembers present and voting. The next matter before the Commission was the written request from Mr. Stuart Foster, attorney for Conifer Developments of Oregon, Inc. for approval of the plot plan for the development proposed for ?Nest Pine Street. Plans, specifications, and special retorts were presented for consideration. Some discussion was held after which, on a motion by MclRana:_a, seconded by Banks and a unanimous affirmative vote of Commissionmembers present and voting, the matter was referred to a study session to be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday -November 30, 1972• At this meeting a comparison of this plan and the previous plan denied would be made, 71r. Foster, the attorney, is to be informed of all future meetings where this subject is to be the matter for discussion vrith the exception of the study meeting as scheduled. Roughly sketched plans for remodeling the roof at Jim's Drive-Ir_ were presented and explained. A minimum of discussion ensued after which the plans were approved subject to the approval of the Building and Fire Departments on a motion. by McBee, seconded by Bradshaw and a unanimous affirmative vote of Commissionmembers present and voting. A report from the firm of Marquess & Earquess, consulting engineers dated November 10, 1972 covering the recent inspection that, firm conducted of the Northwest Printed Circuits business located at 32; Fast Pine Street was reporteO on by Ghairman Bowers and the context of the report less supplementary reports of other agencies was read to the Commission. After some discussion and weighing the potentially hazardous situation, to the central business district it was decided that a public hearing should be held the earliest possible date 11-o consider the revocation of the Conditional Use Permit under which the Company was operating. It was the consensus of the members present that this public hearing be held Thursday, November 30, 1972 and the City Administrator was.instructed to make the necessary mailing of notices and legal advertisement. This was confirmed by a motion by. McLee, seconded by Hull and a unanimous affirmative vote of Corwassionmembers present and voting. There being nor further business the meeting was adjourned at 10:10 p.m.
