Present: Backes, McManama, George, Tally and Hull.
Minutes of the previous meeting were aprroved as read.
Mr. Van Horn, i`k"=ynr, reouested a closer a fiance with the Council. V'ould
like to have a representative of the Ccrmnission to attend the Council
meetings and a Council representative to attend the Planning Cor,'inissinn
meetings. Ben McI4anama wi11 attend the next Council meeting aF
representative of the Planning Commission.
1 . Mrs. Forrette, Town and Rural Properties, requested a variance to
allow them t,o build a 6-plex instead of 5-plea, at 252 S. 2nd St. They
would be short 650 Sn. Pt. for 6 Units. Less than 509' cf land i,,ould be
covered by building, and t`i,ere would be adequate parking space.
a. Ivis Clay, 211, Alder 6t. stated this lot, is 110' x 951 , and he
feels i.t is cvercrcwdi.ng a sxail area, ana would disrupt the peace
and nui.et of the ieiphbcrhood. He disapproves of a variance.
b. Melvin i+lyatt, 230 Alder St, v;ished to knew if this iaould change
the zoning and raise taxes. It, was explained that the present zoning
would allow 5 units, but the variance was needed for the 6th Unit.
a A motion was made by Hull to grant the variance. 2nd by George. i,!otion
Carried.
2. Crater Iron, requesting a znne change from i.j-1 t.c ;,i-2. (From limited cor;,,aercial to
commercial_ to General_ Commercisl. l This wo.A].d he ;or possible expansion
in the future. The work will be done during the day time. Their business
is structural. Steel .
1 . Howard Cunningham, C;,erator of Central Point Plywood, objected to the
noi.s'e from this business. Stated it i,:ould affect his business.
There eras no other objections or comments.
The Planning 6ommission stated that, the City is 1,rotected by the Nuisance
Ordinance, which includes Pxsessive Noise.
George made a motion to refer this to the Council. with the recorn:nendation
that the zone change be appreved. 2nd by Hull. 'alot.icn Carried.
3 Mr. Cunningham, Operator of the Central. Point Plywood, PI. Pacific
Highway, rerniest;ed the vacation of the Alley vrhich borders on his property.
Hull made a motion to recommend to the Council , the vacation of this alley.
2nd by Novcsad. 'Intion Carried.

L. Tom Malot,, Rtiilder, presented a preliminary drav;ing for a 16 Unit
Arartment Complex., to be built on the old St. Arnold property, on the S,
side of Pine Street., and just East of Griffin Creek. Drawing showed the
planned grouping of the apartments and the Landscaping of the area.

A mot-ion taps made by- George to tentatively approve this plan. 2nd by Hull .

5. Nr. Hutton reports that, a Per. Elmore, has 1P acres, lying between the
City on ?reeman Mond, and I-5 that he wished to be annexed to the City. He
is plannin.- a Mobil Home Park for this Area and wished City Services. It was
stated that it would be better to have 911 the area fro this land to Head
load, be annexed at the same time if the property owners in this area would
agree to this. !-Jr. Hutton was given approval to go ahead on annexation.
6. A discussion wr,s held concerning Sub-Division, and prcbleras that have
been encountered, particularly with the Pine Crest Sub-Division. It was
suggested that a Check_ l.'.st, for Sub=Divisions be made and checked as they
are completed. This would give Assurance to the City that the Sub-
divider develops the property as he stated he would, as approved by the
Ci_t.y. It, is up to the City to see they are fulfilled properly, as the City
tr'_11 not accept the subdivision until_ it has met the City Standards.
