REGUTAR MEETING
March 30, 1971
Members present: Langston, George, Novosad, Backes, Hull, and Burton.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
1. PUBLIC HEARING. Mr. Cal Bowers had petitioned for a zone change for
property now zoned R-3, from Haskell to Alder Street, and from Haskell
to Amy- Street. This to be changed to M-2. This would coincide with the
surrounding area . This property is kncom as Harbaugh and Cookseys Addition,
Tax lots 5100, 5200, 5300, 5400, 5500, 5600, 5700, and 5800.
Property owners appearing to be heard on the subject were: Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Richardson, Jim Jones, Mrs. William Malone, Mura Mills, and Mr.
Vern Tomlinson. Only one person was for the zone change.
Ray Novosad made a motion that the zone change be denied. 2nd by Burton.
Motion Carried. Mr. Bowers was informed this can be appealed to the
City Council..
2. Mr. Charles A. Petrehn requested permission to place an 8' wide, 35'
long, modern trailer, upon the vacant lot adjacent to the Munn residence
on the corner of 3rd and Manzanit.a Street, to be used as a temporary Office.
The previous trailer will be moved off the lot .nd the new Unit shall be
placed near the fence line at the side of the Munn P:n perty so that the
water and sewer can be connected with that of the existing residence. It
will have an awning in front and be kept neat. This is to be on the same
basis as before; to be renewed yearly, if no problems arise.
A motion was made by George to allow this change. 2nd by Burton. Motion
Carried.
3. Dale Bartley, 920 E. Pine Street, Central Point, Cregon, was present to
discuss the possi bility of his installing a Cold Room and a Meat Cutting
business at his residence. This would be for quanti.ty sales.
Mr. Bartley- was advised that retail sales were not allowed in the C-4 Zone.
After discussion, Novosad made a motion to recommend to the Council that
retail sales be allowed in C-4 Zone as a "Conditional Use". 2nd by Burton.
Motion Carried.
4. Mrs. Ruth C. Clark, who owns rroperty at 145 S. 2nd St. Central Point,
made a complaint to the Police Department 2-16-65, regarding a collection
of debris and junk on adjoining property owned by Mr. Leland Dysinger, and
stated that nothinP has ever been done about it yet. It is felt that this
is not a problem for the Planning Conmmi.ssion. A motion was made by Backes
to return this complaint to the City Administrator and the proper Authorities
to handle it. 2nd by Novosad. Motion Carried.
A motion was made by Novosad to adjourn. 2nd by George. Motion Carried.
