RESOLUTION NO. 1854
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT SETTING A WATER RATE ADJUSTMENT
EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 21st, 2026
RECITALS:
A. The City of Central Point was notified that effective March 1, 2026 the Medford
Water Commission will increase the rate for bulk water purchases by 26%.
B. The City of Central Point conducted an updated Cost of Service Study and
determined that an overall increase of 20.9% is needed to meet the increased costs
imposed on bulk water purchases.
C. The proposed increases to the City’s water rates are as follows:
a. Base Rate – 20%
b. Tier 1 – 20%
c. Tier 2 – 22%
d. Tier 3 - 23%
e. Tier 4 - 24%.
D. The Council finds that incremental increases in the Tiers is designed to promote
conservation while reducing the burden on those whose rate increases may
financially strain them.
E. The City of Central Point held a duly noticed public hearing on January 22, 2026 , to
consider the water rate increase.
THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Effective February 21st, 2026, the City of Central Point Water Rates shall be
increased as set forth in Attachment A.
SECTION 2. This Resolution becomes effective immediately upon its passage.
PASSED by the Council and signed by me in authentication of its passage this 22nd day
of January, 2026.
