HomeMy WebLinkAboutCouncil Resolutions 1847RESOLUTION NO. ______________ A RESOLUTION DECLARING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 399 SOUTH FIFTH STREET (MAP NO. 372W11BB TAX LOTS 6300 & 8200) SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SELL THE PROPERTY TO RVCOG Recitals: A. The City of Central Point owns real property located on 399 South Fifth Street, commonly referred to as Map No. 372W11BB, Tax Lots 6300 and 8200 which is the location of the former Public Works Corporation Yard (the “Subject Property”). B. The Subject Property has been leased to Pathways for the last several years and Pathways has provided written notice that it is terminating the lease. C. City has no municipal purpose for the Subject Property and RVCOG has reached out to the City to purchase the Subject Property for its Meals on Wheels program and other related uses. D. ORS 271.310 authorizes the City to sell real property without competition to another government department or public agency whenever it is not needed for public use or when the public interest may be furthered by such conveyance. E. The City has determined that the Subject Property is not needed for municipal public use and it is in the public interest to sell the Subject Property to RVCOG as authorized by CPMC 2.40.120.1. The City of Central Point resolves as follows: Section 1. The Subject Property is declared to be surplus. Section 2. The City Council directs staff to negotiate a Purchase and Sale Agreement with RVCOG for the appraised value of the Subject Property. Section 3. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to take any other steps necessary to effectuate the terms of this resolution.
