WELCOME!
The Central Point section ofthe Bear Creek Greenway is a 52 acre site that boasts
several natural features including Bear Creek, Elk Creek, Mingus Pond, wetlands,
and riparian areas. Following the September 2020 wildfire that devastated this
section of the Greenway, the City of Central Point has taken a proactive approach
to managing the area. The city has implemented regular maintenance measures to
minimize the risk of future fires and has increased police patrols.
This project creates a master plan for the site that includes restoring natural areas,
mitigating the potential for future catastrophic wildfires, and providing increased
recreation opportunities. The design aims to ensure public accessibility to the park,
allowing people to have direct and meaningful experiences with the creek, riparian
areas, and enliven this critical community asset.
Community feedback will be sought throughout the design process. Please stay
tuned by visiting the Central Point webpage devoted to this project.
Please review the design concepts and let us k^ow your
feedback!

CREEKSIDE
PROJECT GOALSiltrfrf;iFlanSs;sr",
WELCOME!
The Centra Point Creekside (Boes) property is a recent addition to the city's
network of public lands. The property is located on the northern edge of
the city, along Bear Creek, a tributary ofthe Rogue River, and the Bear Creek
Greenway, a 20-mile multi-use path.
This project will create a conceptual site design plan for the 34-acre
Creekside Property. The project site encompasses Bear Creek, riparian areas,
stands of mature trees, two upland meadows, and diverse wildlife.
Preserving and restoring the natural spaces is a crucial objective of the
park design. Simultaneously, the design aims to ensure public accessibility,
allowinB people to have direct and meaningful experiences with the natural
environment, with outdoor education and wildfire resiliency being important
elements of the design.
Please review the design concepts and let us know your feedback.
