RE: Art Commission
Commission Member
This letter is first and foremost a thank you letter for the time and effort that you provided to help bring art awareness to the City of Central Point. Second, it is to inform you
that at this time the Art Commission will be put on hold indefinitely. We have tried twice in the past five years with limited success to establish an Arts Commission. This past attempt
saw many members that joined and then moved out of the area, low member attendance and often cancelled meetings due to lack of quorum. Due to those circumstances and in order to streamline
our processes the responsibilities of this commission will be moved to into our current more established commissions.
The Planning Commission and the Downtown Beautification Committee will be working on future projects related to art in Central Point. When we have found greater public support for the
arts in Central Point the City Council may again establish an Arts Commission.
Again thank you for your dedication to helping serve the City of Central Point. If you are still interested in working with groups in Central Point, there are several other commission
and committee appointments that may be a good fit for you. Please contact Deanna Casey at Deanna.casey@centralpointoregon.gov if you would like to inquire about another commission
position in Central Point.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Boardman
