PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION N0. ~_
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A SIGN VARIANCE FOR
PAPA MURPHY'S PIZZA AT 129 E. PINE STREET
(Applicant: Papa Murphy's / Tray Irving)
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CENTRAL POINT, OREGON, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Nature of Application. Applicant has applied
for a sign variance to allow a sign for its restaurant in the
downtown business district to project nut over the sidewalk into
the public right-of-way a distance of 46 inches. Central Point
Municipal Cade Section 15.24.260 limits the distance a sign may
project over public property to 36 inches when the clearance
between, the bottom of the sign and the grade below is between 8
feet, 6 inches and 10 feet. The clearance above grade for the
proposed Papa Murphy's sign would be 8 feet 10 inches. Applicant
is therefore requesting authorization to project the sign an
additional 10 inches over and above the City standard. The
Planning Commission conducted a duly--noticed public hearing on
October 1, 1996, at which time it considered the applicant's
submitted written materials, the City staff report, and testimony
from interested persons.
Section 2. Findings. The Planning Commission finds that
applicant has satisfied the requirements for variances set forth
in CPMC 17.80.010. The Planning Commission hereby adapts the
written findings submitted by applicant, the contents of the City
staff report, and the testimony by applicant at the hearing.
Section 3. Variance Approved. Applicant's variance request
is hereby approved.
