HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 367 - Papa Murphy's Sign Variance PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION N0. ~_ A RESOLUTION APPROVING A SIGN VARIANCE FOR PAPA MURPHY'S PIZZA AT 129 E. PINE STREET (Applicant: Papa Murphy's / Tray Irving) BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT, OREGON, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Nature of Application. Applicant has applied for a sign variance to allow a sign for its restaurant in the downtown business district to project nut over the sidewalk into the public right-of-way a distance of 46 inches. Central Point Municipal Cade Section 15.24.260 limits the distance a sign may project over public property to 36 inches when the clearance between, the bottom of the sign and the grade below is between 8 feet, 6 inches and 10 feet. The clearance above grade for the proposed Papa Murphy's sign would be 8 feet 10 inches. Applicant is therefore requesting authorization to project the sign an additional 10 inches over and above the City standard. The Planning Commission conducted a duly--noticed public hearing on October 1, 1996, at which time it considered the applicant's submitted written materials, the City staff report, and testimony from interested persons. Section 2. Findings. The Planning Commission finds that applicant has satisfied the requirements for variances set forth in CPMC 17.80.010. The Planning Commission hereby adapts the written findings submitted by applicant, the contents of the City staff report, and the testimony by applicant at the hearing. Section 3. Variance Approved. Applicant's variance request is hereby approved. Passed by the Planning Commission and signed by me in authentication of its passage this ~_ day of 1996.
