He crossed the plains with his parents in 1856 by ox teams and settled in Napa County, California. In 1862 the family moved to Solana Valley (Baker Plains) in 1862. In 1864 he moved to the Willamette Valley settling near Harrisburg, Oregon. He`drove freight wagons from:Harrisburg to Medford, Oregon. Then in 1867: he moved to the Rogue River valley where he was a resident for sixty-seven years. He died of pneumonia at the home of his daughter, Mrs. M. L. Hartley, neaz Phoenix early Friday morning on December 23, 1927.- Those who knew him say that he was a lovable character, and as a minister of the gospel he went about doing good to his people. He was interred in the'Central Point Cemetery. Services were conducted by the Pert Funeral ,, ..Home. . James Samuel Ivlazch married Martha Morning Walker on November 4, 1869...
