Workwill go to the lowest bidder. Please make srue all bids are comparable.For example: If you are asking for bids on a ne\ry central heating system, you need to have a housediagram, showing where the registers in each room need to be, the room sizes and total squarefootage of house. If the system will have air conditioning you need to state you are requiring airconditioning. Then compare the scope of work and proposed system. If two contractors show a10,000 BTU system and the low bid has a 5,000 BTU system, youwill need to determine why oneis quoting a system half the size. Then have all quotes the same size BTU system.Insulation is another area where giving the contractors your requirements up front will save timeand you will get comparable bids. Bids with different "R" factors in the insulation are notcomparable bids.\ühat will the City do for you?V/ill assist in your bid requirements for the contractors. Assist in developing the scope of workneeded. V/ill verify that the contractor is licensed by the State and has all local license and permits.Inspect that the workmanship and materials meet building standards.
