HomeMy WebLinkAboutCM 111358 (2)1 I CITY HALL, CENTRAL POINT, OREGON NOVEMBER 13, 1958• 371; The Common Council met in fegular adjourned session with Mayor Faber presiding. Roll call found : Bigham, Chisum, Gleason, Setness, present. Absent: Saxbury and Yocom. Mayor Faber read a notice of Hearing for the Vacation of 20 ft. of Bush Street. between South 2nd Street on the east and its,ynction with the South City limits on the West. As the hearing progressed, Mr. Askwith presented the Council with a letter from the school Dist. 5C opposing the vacation of a part of Bush Street, also a petition fo the property owners in the area opposing the vacating of a part of Bush. Yr. Askwith , Mr. M.cKain, and Mr. Wernmark expressed themselves as opposing the action of vacating of the above named street. Amotion was made by Setness second by Bigham that the request for vacation of 20ft. on Bush be turned down. Motion carried. Mr. Wernmark requested that Ordinance #293 regulating business license's be read. After the ordinance was read, there was a discussion regard- ing the enforcing of the Ordinance. Mr. Gleason made a motion second by Setness that the R corder and Police Department strive to collect business license from'all legitimate business men. Motion Carried. Mr. Gleason read a request from Mr. Bowen to attend the League of Oregon Cities meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 18. Mayor Faber spoke of a request from the Public Works Hepertment to allow Vernon Capps to attend the meeting. This request had been granted informally following the November 5th meeting. Mr. Setness made a motion second by Gleason that the Recorder, Police Chief and Fire Chief be allowed to attend the meeting. Notion Carried Mr. Bigham made a motion second by Gleason approving a Christmas Tree for the City and insturcting the Public works Department to get it and that it be put up on the City property by the Library. M'tion carried. Mr. Gleason made a motion that the application of the merchant's for renewal of there Malt Beverage License be approved. Motion carried.
