City Hall, Central Point, Oregon July 9, 1959
The common Council met in special adjourned session with Mayor
C Mason presiding. Roll call found Bigham, Colley, Setness,
and Saxbury present. Absent Chisum, Patterson.
Purpose of the meeting was to adopt Ord. #516 this being an
ordinance calling for bids for the construction of a new city
hall. The ordinance was read by Mayor Mason, and a motion was
made by Setness second by Bigham that the Ord. be alopted.
Roll call vote -ayes Bigham, Colley, Saxbury, Setness. Nays
none. Mayor Mason declared Ord. #516 duly adopted.
The council instructed the administrator to negotiate with
Mr. Ditch for the purchase of a rightof way and additional
property on Hazel street at 10th.
A motion was made by Bigham second by Colley that the meeting
adjourn to the call of the Mayor or until the 21st of July,'
1959. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned.

The common council met in special adjourned session with
Mayor Mason presiding. Roll call found Bigham, Chisum, Saxbury
Setness present. Absent Colley, Patterson.
Purpose of the meeting was to receive bids for the construction
of concrete curbs on South second street between Pine and Bush.
Construction of grade, construction and paving between Bush
and the south city limits. Also bids for the construction of
a new city hall.
Sealed bids were opened for the construction of curbs and paving
and were as follows:

Sealed Bids were opened for the construction of anew city Hall.
Two complete bids were recieved:
Southern Oregon Construction Co. -Grants Pass $26,500.00
Jacobs Const. Co. $27,014.00
Patterson Plumbing Co. submitted a bid for the
plumbing complete 2,317.00

A motion was made by Setness second by Chisum that the bids
be tabled for further study. Motion carried.
Mr. Hayworth, park and recreation director of the Medford park
system and Mr. Ed Knapp, director of the Hawthorne pool, met
with the council to discuss problems and answer questions that
this council will face, should we construct a pool in Central
Point. Mr. Hayworth told of a similar project that he helped
with atDeer Park, Washington. The total cost of that project
was app. $65,000.00 with $30,000.00 in contributions.and labor.
Mr. Hayworth listed necessary equipment as filters @$17,000.00
Heating plant @ $12,000.00 , Chlorinator $1,000.00 and the
cost of a 60%120 tank would cost about 7,500.00 These are only
estimates.
Mr. Calvin Bowers met with the council to officially give to
the City, a drinking fountain they had constructed on Pine
near Fourth. The council accepted the fountain and the recorder
was instructed to write a letter of thanks to the Lion's
Club who Mr. Bower's represented.
A motion was made by Setness second by Saxbury that we adjourn
until the call of the Mayor or until July 23, 1959.
