City Hall Central Point, Oregon September 8,1959
The Common Council met in adjourned regular session with Mayor Mason
presiding. Roll call found Bigham,Setness, Colley,Patterson and
Saxbury, present. Chisum,absent.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Recorder
motion was made by Setness,second by Patterson the minutes be
approved as read. Motion carried.
The bills were read by Mr. Mason and approved by the Council upon
the motion of Saxbury,second by Patterson. The Recorder was in-
structed to draw warrants upon the proper funds for payment of the
bills.

John Galluci came to the Council telling them of plans he has for a
restaurant to be built on the lot next to the Pioneer Cafe. This
woulbe be operated separately from the Tavern. Mayor Masor instruct-
ed Mr. Gallucci to present a sketch to the planning commission
for their approval.
The Recorder reported on the Ditch property that the City is
purchasing. The description is as follows:(original is on file)

Commencing at the Quarter corner common to Sections
2 and 3,Townsbip 37 South, Range 2 West, Willamette Meridian,
Jackson County, Oregon; thence South 89°59' East along the
East and West centerline of said Section 2,72.72 feet to a
i" iron pin for the true point of beginning;
thence North 61°48' East 45.91 feet to a 5/8" iron pin;
thence North 47015' 30" East 110.57 feet to a 5/8"
iron pin located on the Southwesterly boundary of Scenic Avenue;
thence South 42001' 30" East along said Avenue boundary
130.31 feet to intersect the East and West centerline of said
Section 2;
thence North 89`59' West 208.90 feet to the true point
of beginning, containing 0.22 acres, more or less.

A petition for curbs and paving on 8th Street was presented to 4 2 7.
the Council for approval. A motion was made by Bigham,second by
Setness the petition be approved. Motion carried.
A letter of resignation as Librarian from Avis Van Hoy was read.
' Mrs. Van Hoy has accepted steady employment with the Jewett School.
A letter from Mr. Albert Gandt, designer, was read to the Council.
regarding the termination of his work on the proposed City Hall.
The council approved the attached bill for final payment of his
services. The amount of "$150.00.
Mr. Lee Orr,445 Orr Drive,was introduced to the Council. He came
with a proposal to open a tavern in the building owned by Faber
C and Glenn. After discussion in the presence of Mr. Orr, a motion
+. was made by Patterson,second by Colley the request be tabled until
further study is possible, and until all Council members are present.
Motion carried.
The Council discussed the possibility of construction of the new City
Hall. It was decided to have Bill Colley draw up some more plans.
The Council, by motion of Bigham,second by Saxbury, hereby re -approves
the plans and specs for South Second,Pine to Bush with the only
variation being in the quantity of excavation, (There will be approx-
imately 5" of base rock including finish course.),and instructing the
City Administrator to proceed with the work. Motion carried.
There being no further business, a motion was made by 3etness,second
by Patterson,the meeting be adjourned to the call of the Mayor.
