Mr. Pearson a representative of the Home Gas Co. came to the
council with a request to be allowed to
install a gas line in
the alleys of the business district, and to install one 1,000
gallon storage tank for each half block.
This would serve all
business establishments on that particular
block. This would
eliminate 6 or 7 storage tanks in each block. The subscribers
would get cheaper rates than when served individually. The
city would recieve an amount agreed upon
by the council and
the gas Co. for the privilege of having
this type of install-
ation.
The subject was discussed at length. Mr.
Blackhurst stated
that should the council decide to favor
this company, that a
proposal should'be drawn outlining the agreement
then an Ord-
inance be drawn to cover same. The council
approved the request
and Mr. Pearson was instructed to bring
a proposal to the
Recorder.
The present zoning Ordinance pertaining
to rear yard setbacks
was discussed, and as the required setback
is not very clearly
stated, the recorder and Mr. Blackhurst
were instructed to
amend the present code as needed.
Mayor Mason read the resignation of Al Setness. A motion was
a
made ty Patterson second by Chisum that
the resignation of
Ja
Mr. Setness be accepted and the recorder
be instructed to
write a letter of comendation to Mr. Setness. Motion carried.
Mayor Mason appointed Chester Ayers 129
N. 9th to replace
Mr. Setness, for the remainder of his term.
