Roll Call: Bigham, Chisum, Colley, Patterson, Saxbury. Absent, Setness. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and a motion was made by Saxbury second by Patterson that the minutes be approved as read. Motion carried. C. The following bills were presented for audit to the council. A motion was made by Chisum second by Bigham that the bills -� be approved and warrants be drawn ori the proper funds to cover the amounts named in the bills. Bids were called for a new police car, and were read to the coun- cil. Courtesy Chevrolet $2,087.40 Crater Lake Motors 2,246.43 The council felt that necessary money to purchase the car would not be available in this years budget so the bids were tabled. A request for the renewal of the liquor dispensor license for the Pioneer Cafe and tavern was presented to the council. After discussion on the operation of the above mentioned cafe, a motion was made by Colley second by Chisum that the request be granted. Motion carried. A request for the renewal of the liquor dispensors license for the Corner Club was presented, and studied. A motion was made by Saxbury second by Chisum the request be granted. Motion carried. Paulsens request was tabled, as the form presented was not filled out. (This later was found by the recorder to be another form.) Ordinance 521 was read by Mr. Blackhurst. This being an Ordinance stating proceedures for selecting a juryas required by currant legislation. Roll Call vote. Ayes, Bigham, Chisum, Colley, Patterson, Saxbury. Nays. none. The motion was made by Saxbury second by Bigham for adoption. Mayor Mason declared Ordinance # 521 duly adopted. A motion was made by Patterson second by Saxbury that the meeting be adjourned to the call of the mayor or to the next regular meeting night. Motion carried. Lumber Co. 31.11 352 Mechanics Laundry 0 2 Mr. Pearson a representative of the Home Gas Co. came to the council with a request to be allowed to install a gas line in the alleys of the business district, and to install one 1,000 gallon storage tank for each half block. This would serve all business establishments on that particular block. This would eliminate 6 or 7 storage tanks in each block. The subscribers would get cheaper rates than when served individually. The city would recieve an amount agreed upon by the council and the gas Co. for the privilege of having this type of install- ation. The subject was discussed at length. Mr. Blackhurst stated that should the council decide to favor this company, that a proposal should'be drawn outlining the agreement then an Ord- inance be drawn to cover same. The council approved the request and Mr. Pearson was instructed to bring a proposal to the Recorder. The present zoning Ordinance pertaining to rear yard setbacks was discussed, and as the required setback is not very clearly stated, the recorder and Mr. Blackhurst were instructed to amend the present code as needed. Mayor Mason read the resignation of Al Setness. A motion was a made ty Patterson second by Chisum that the resignation of Ja Mr. Setness be accepted and the recorder be instructed to write a letter of comendation to Mr. Setness. Motion carried. Mayor Mason appointed Chester Ayers 129 N. 9th to replace Mr. Setness, for the remainder of his term. Roll call vote. Ayes; Bigham, Chisum, Colley, Patterson, ,axb--. . Nave. _.ne
