HomeMy WebLinkAboutCM 021660446 City Hall, City of Central Point, Oregon Feb. 16, 1960 The Common Council met inyregular session with Mayor Mason pre- siding. adjourned The purpose of the meeting is the reading of bids for the const- , ruction of a new City Hall. Roll call found Ayers, Bigham, Colley, Patterson and Saxbuby pre- sent. Absent, Chisum. Mayor Mason read the bids on hand at 7:45 p.m. as follows: A bid of A. L. Duin for masonry only was tabled as it was not a complete bid. Complete bids were as follows: completion. date. C. V. Bowers $14,875.00 90 days Don Jacobs const. co. 15,490.00 60 " R. & M. Const Co. 14,444.00 90 it After reading these bids, a motion was made by tatterson, second by Colley that the bids be tabled for further consideration. Motion carried. Following discussion of various city problems and in the absence. of any contractors. A motion was made by Colley, second by Ayers that the bids for the construction of a new City Hall be given ' more consideration. Motion carried. After discussion by the council a motion was made by Patterson, second by Saxbury that the bid of the R. & M. Construction Co., be accepted, and an ordinance be drawn accepting the bid and authorizing construction. Motion carried. A motion was made by Saxbury second by Colley that the bid of the First National bank of the City of Central Point, Oregon, in the amount of $7,816.99 for the purchase of lot 1 Block 10, Original Tosco --be accepted and the amount applied on the construction of the new City Hall. The recorder is also instructed to have the City Attorney draw an ordinance and a deed for the transaction. There being no further business, a motion was made by Saxbury second by Patterson the meeting be adjourned to the call of the Mayor or to the next regular meeting. Motion carried.
