HomeMy WebLinkAboutCM 122259Qj (SCity Hall City of Central Point, Oregon December 22,1959 The Common Council met in regular adjourned session with Mayor Mason presiding. Roll call found: Ayers,Bigham, Chisum,Colley, Patterson and Saxbury,present. Absent; none. The purpose of the meeting was to open bids for the possible sale of City owned property. Block 10,Lot 1. This being the location of the present City Hall. The only bid received was one from the FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF OREGON -Central Point Branch in the amount of $7,516.99 A motion was made by Bighbm,second by Patterson that the minutes show that the Council act favorably upon the bid submitted and that the recorder should hold the bid until a cost of a new hall shall be determined. Ordinance #523 was read, this being and Ordinance providing for Public hearing on the annexation of the Crater Osteopathic -Hospital property. A motion was made by Saxbury,second by Chisum, that Ordinance #523 be adopted., Motion carried. Ordinance #523 adopted. Roll call vote: Ayes;Ayers,Bigham,Chisum Colley I Patterson,Saxbury. Nays; none. A motion was made by Coliey,second by Bigham that the hearing be held January 12,1960 at 7:30 P.M. at the City Hall. As it would be necessary to hire someone to take Vernon Capps 'place should he take a week vacation, the Ccmncil instructed the Recorder to pay Vernon an additional weeks wages and Vernon would „;ark instead of taking a week off. The Recorder was instructed to contact the State Highway Department about getting traffic warning signals on Highway 99. The Recorder was instructed to write a letter to the Jackson County Planning Board stating this City is opposed to the proposed land -fill garbage dump 3/4 mile North of Central Point. A motion was made by Patterson,second by Saxbury, that we adjourn to the call of the Mayor or until the next regular meeting night January 5,1960. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned.
