CITY HALL CITY OF CENTRAL POINT, OREGON January 5,1960
The Common Council met in adjourned regular session with Mayor Mason
presiding. Roll call found: Ayers,Bigham,Chisum,Colley,Patterson,
and Saxbury present. No absentees.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and a motion was made by
Colley,second by Patterson that the minutes be approved. Motion
carried.
The bills were presented to the Council for audit and a motion
was made by Saxbury,second by Chisum the bills be allowed. Motion
carried..

were authorized to be paid by warrants on the proper funds.

Sixteen citizens came to the Council to discuss the problem of sawdust
fallout from the two mills in Central Point. They were represented by
Mr. Dames, Medford attorney. Various members of the group including
George Johnson,Mr. Matthews and Mr. Vella. Others present were;
John Deuel, Wendell Panter, Mr. Bishop, Mr. Teets, Mr. R.B. Johnson,
Mr. Bones, Mr. Frank Koch. After considerable discussion, the Council
suggested that Mr. Dames and Mr. Blackhurst look into the legal aspects
of the situation and see what remedies might be taken.
Mr. Alf Mekvold came to the Council todiscuss a problem he has regarding
the moving of a building he has located on the corner of his property
without any setbacks. The Council gave Mr. Mekvold ^gntil such a time
as weather would permit to move the building.
Mayor Mason read a letter from Boyer and Holmes re: Crater Osteopathic
Hospital requesting water service. The Council instructed the Recorder
to call for a Public Hearing for water service.
The Council discussed the building of the proposed new City Hall. It
was decided to draw up some simplified plans and specs and call for ,
new bids.
Mr. Blackhurst read Ord. #524, this being and Ord. creating improve-
ment fund for South Second Street -Bush to the South City Limits. A
motion was made by Saxbury, second by Colley, to approve Ord. #524.

Ordinance number 525 was read by Mr. Blacichurst, this being an ordinance
for spreading of assessments on South Second between Bush and the South
City Limits. A motion was made by Colley second Saxbury to approve # 525.
Roll call: Ayes; Ayres, Bigham, Chisum, Colley, Patterson and Saxbury.
Nays: none. Ordinance # 525 Declared duly adopted.
