The Budget Committe and Common Council met at 7:30 P.M. this date '
to discuss expenditures and receipts for the budget year,1960-61.
Mayor Mason appointed Keith Williams as Chairman and the Chairman
appointed Richard Bartley as Secretary.
Those present were: Councilmen; Ayers,Bigham,Colley,and Saxbury.
absent were : Chiaum and Patterson.
Budget Members present were: Richard Bartley,Wayne King, John Robison,
Keith Williams. Absent: Bob Padgett,E.R.Yocom.
While discussing the receipts for the Police Department on fines and bail
as listed at $2000.00, a motion was made by Bigham, second by Colley that
the amount be increased to last years levy of $2,600.001 and the $600,00
to be used for increases of wages of the Police and Public Works depart—
ments of $5.00 per month. The balance to be used for extra help.
Motion carried.
After a complete study of the budget, a motion was made by Robison,second
by Ayers that the budget be accepted as listed and referred to the Council
for final approval. Motion carried. And the meeting was declared adjourned.
