CITY OF CENTRAL POINT CITY HALL October 4,1960
The Common Council met in adjourned regular session with Acting Mayor Les
Bigham presiding in the absence of Mayor Mason.

Old business was presented. Margaret Naples was contacted by the $8,955.14
Recorder regards the cost of consolidating the fire insurance under one
company. Mrs. Naples brought a report regards the cost. It would be
$220_.77. This is the new rate as reappraised.
The recorder was instructed to post three notices of the coming election.
Mr. Blabkhurat explained to a group of residents on Chestnut Street,
the different problems involved in controlling the nuisance regards the
truck noise in the neighborhood.
Letters were presented to the Council from the Insurance Company of
America and the Insurance Company of Oregon, telling us that our records
are in accord with theirs. And all funds have been received by them
that were written by the Recorder.
Maurice Davies, Ernest Himmelman and others came to the Council to
discuss the construction of a new Bowling Alley building. The
building to be of steel construction. The Council stated that if
a two hour fire wall type of construction is used, the construction
could proceed.
A motion was made by Saxbury, second by Ayres, that Roy Kelly be
appointed to fill the balance of the term of Councilman of Rollie
Chisum, who has been absent for the past three meetings. Motion carried.
Ordinance No. 565 was read, this being an Ordinance vacating analley
in the City of Central Point.(Block 6 of Pattison Addition,Original Town.)
A motion was made by Ayres, second by Saxbury that Ordinance No. 565 be
adopted. Roll call: Ayes; Ayres, Colley, Patterson, Saxbury. Nayes; none.
Ordinance No. 565 duly adopted.
Ordinance No. 566 was read, this being an Ordinance providing for the
annexation of territopy to the City of Central Point. (Frank & Dorothy
Bruce, John and Gladdes Cupp. Part of Snowy Butte,Located South of Bush
Street and West of S. Second Street.)
A motion was made by Saxbury, second by Patterson that Ordinance No. 566 be
adopted. Roll call: Ayes; Ayres, Colley, Patterson,Saxbury. Nayes; none.

Motion carried. Ordinance No. 566 duly adopted.
Mr. Clark of the Engineering Firm of Clark and Groff gave the Council a
EePerton the water study requested by the Council. Mr. Clark presented
the Council with proposed maps of water storage, tanks, new mains, etc.
The final draft is not completed, though it should be ready within the month.

Police Chief Bowen presented to the Council a letter regards vacation time
and back pay. After the Council discussed the matter and the letter was
presented to the City Attorney to check the State Statutes (ORS 408-290)
on the subject, then report to the council.
Mr. Bowen also presented a bill to the Council for expenses to Winnemucca, '
Nevada. This bill was also tabled.
A motion was made by Patterson, second by Ayres, that the meeting be ad—
journed to the call of the Mayor. Motion carried.
