A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THAT THE
CITY OF CENTRAL POINT SUPPORTS THE
HIGHWAY 99 CORRIDOR TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT PROJECT
This Resolution confirms the City Council's support for the Highway 99 Corridor
Transportation Enhancement Project (the "Project") and the continued commitment of the
City of Central Point, Oregon (the "City") to fund and otherwise support the Project as
set forth in the City's Transportation Enhancement Application for 2009-011.
WHEREAS, in 2005, through an ODOT TGM Program Grant, the City
completed a study entitled the Central Point Highway 99 Corridor Plan (the "Plan"); and
WHEREAS, it is the purpose of the Plan to establish a preferred design for the
improvement of Highway 99 as a pedestrian friendly multi-modal community street that
links three transit oriented districts; the Downtown Business District, the Twin Creeks
Transit Oriented Development, and the Snowy Butte Transit Oriented Development; and
WHEREAS, the Plan segregates the improvement of Highway 99 into four (4)
distinct projects to be completed as funds are available; and
WHEREAS, the City has successfully acquired financial commitments for, and is
prepared to, complete Project 1 of the Plan during Fiscal Year 2006-07.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGED that the City
Council in its continued effort to complete the Plan confirms its continued support of the
Plan through such efforts as the Highway 99 Corridor Transportation Enhancement
