AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CENTRAL POINT MUNICIPAL CODE
CHAPTER 2.57 PERTAINING TO THE MEETING
DATES OF THE MULTICULTURAL COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, The Multicultural Committee was established in 2008 by Ordinance 1916 and
designated to meet quarterly: and
WHEREAS, the Committee recommends amending the meeting dates allowing them to meet
monthly so they can better serve the community; and
WHEREAS, the committee would like authority to appoint a vice chairperson and secretary from
its membership.
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF CENTRAL POINT, OREGON, DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Central Point Municipal Code Section 2.57.040 and 2.57.050 are hereby amended
to read as follows:

MULTICULTURAL COMMITTEE
Sections:
2.57.040 Meetings
2.57.050 Chairperson — Removal of members
2.57.040 Meetings: A. Committee members shall adopt rules of procedure and review
them every two years. If changes are made they will be presented to the City Council for
adoption by Council Resolution.
B. Regular meetings shall be held EjaaAefly in Febfuafy, May, ttg-ds* and
Nee the second Monday of each month. Meetings may be added, cancelled or
rescheduled by the Committee Chair or staff liaison.
2.57.050 Chairperson — Removal of members: A. The chairperson shall be appointed by
the committee at large for a term of one year starting the first meeting of each year. The
Chairperson shall be a voting member. The Committee Chair will have the responsibility
of reporting to the City Council on an annual basis.
1. The Committee shall appoint a vice chair who will act as presiding
officer in the absence of the chairperson.
2. The committee shall appoint a secretary who will be responsible for
recording the meeting and providing official minutes to the City
Recorder for retention.

B. Any member of the Multicultural Committee may be removed by the Mayor,
with the approval of the Council for misconduct or nonperformance of duty. A member
who is absent from three consecutive meetings without an approved absence from the
chairperson is presumed to be in nonperformance of duty and may be replace by the
Mayor and Council.
Section 2. The recommended changes will become effective 30 days after passage of the second
reading and affirmative vote by the City Council.
