HomeMy WebLinkAboutCM042969 City Hall 250 E. Pine St. Central Point, Oregon April 29, 1969 8:50 p.m. The Common Council met in special adjourned session with Mayor Burton presiding. Roll call found: Hill, Marasco, Tonn, Reed, Van Horn; present. Absent; Zander. Also present; Tate, and Tucker. Mayor Burton appointed Lorain Tate, Recorder pro tem, in the absence of Edward Zander, Recorder, who was ill. Discussion of the salary of the City Recorder, Edward Zander. The council felt an adjustment should be made in his salary until July 1, and then be reconsidered in the coming budget for another adjustment. Mr. Zander had indicated he will be willing to accept $500.00 per month retroactive to April 1. Discussion. It was moved by Reed, second Marasco to increase the City Recorders salary to $500.00 per month, retroactive to April 1. And consider an adjustment in the coming budget. Roll call vote. All in favor. Motion carried, City Administrator recommended to the council that the fence ordinance be amended so as to give jurisdiction for a variance to the Planning Commission. Burton Brooks, Paradise Nursing Horae, filed an application for a fence variance and paid the $5.00 filing fee. The property is located at the Southwest corner of Second ands Laurels Streets. He requested a variance to install a 3~ foot cyclone type chain link fence five feet from the curb along both streets -- this is outside the property line in both instances. Administrator Tucker stated that he and Inspector Gilham had looked at the property and recommended that a variance to within seven feet of the curb be granted on the Laurel Street side but that no variance be granted on the Second Street side. The water meter would be inside the fence on the Second Street side if the fence were placed outside the property line. Mr. Tucker did mention that some other fences previously built on Second. Street are outside the property lines. It was moved and seconded to allow the fence variance as recommended by the City Administrator and Building Inspector. Motion carried. There being no further business, it was moved and seconded the meeting aijourn to the call of the Mayor or the next regular council meeting. Motion carried.
