The Common Council met in regular adjourned session with Mayor Burton
presiding. Roll call found present: Almquist, Bigham, Hill, Tonn and
:Van Horn. Absent: Councilman Manasco. Also present: Mansfield, Sanders,
~Higinbotham, Capps, Tucker and Zander.
Minutes of the April 21st meeting were read and discussed.
Councilman Van Horn suggested that the meaning of C.A. should be
~ spelled out on page 4, para. 7 and should be City Administrator.
~4 With no further questions on the minutes a motion was made by Tonn,
~ second by Almquist to approve the minutes. as read. All in fswor.
~ Motion carried.
~ Mayor Burton referred to correspondence by reading a letter from
Miss Marion F?helps, Student Body President, Jewett Elementary School,
thanking the city public-works dept. and the police dept. personnel
for their assistance on "Earth Day".
Attorney Mansfield ,at this time presented a proposed ordinance for
passage, related to dog control. Proposed ordinance reading in
Part;. An ordinance relating to dog control and amending ordinance
No. 443. Motion Van Horn; second Bigham to approve Ordinance No. 990.
Roll call vote. All in favor. Motion carri-ed. Ordinance 990 declared
duly adopted.
Attorney Mansfield read proposed ordinance 991 relating to: An ordinance
setting a date for a public hearing on~:,the withdrawal of certain
recently annexed real property frog, the Central Point Rural Fire
protection district and from the Bear Creek Valley Sanitary Authority
and directing the City Recorder to'publish the notices as required
by ORs 222.524 and repealing ordinance 989.
Discussion.
Motion Tonn, second Hill to approve ordinance 991 as read. Roll-
,- call. vote. All in favor. Motion carried. Ordinance 991 declared
duly adopted.
Attorney Mansfield presented proposed ordinance for passage as
ordinance 992. This being an ordinance relating to a Bargain Sale
Deed. A portion of City of Central Point Granite property to
Robert ;.Murphy, purchaser.
Discussion.

Mayor Burton asked attorney Mansfield the legal opinion as to the
right proceedure.in selling this portion of property without a
bid-type sale. Attorney Mansfield advised that this could be done
without any problem or violation. Motion Almquist, second Bigham to
approve Ordinance 992. Roll call vote. All in favor. Motion carried.
Ordinance 992 declared-duly adopted.
Mayor Burton called for the report of the City Administrator on .
"Bereavement leave policy". The report was studied and discussed.
Motion by Tonn, second by Hill to accept the recommendation of
Mr. Tucker's proposal and to have the City Administrator to administer
the policy. All in favor. Motion carried.
