Also present: Tucker, Bessey and Mansfield. November 9, 1970 5:30 p.m. The common council met in adjourned session of the October 20, 1970 meeting with Mayor Burton presiding. Mayor Burton appointed Frances Bessey as Recorder pro-tem for this meeting. L Resolution No. 158 was presented.. This is a resolution canvassing the ballots case in the special election held November 3, 1970, pursuant to ordinance no. 1000. This special election measure was for the purchase of afire truck and related equipment. Yes: 540 No: 31+8 Motinn made by Hill, second by Almquist to-adopt Resolution No. 158. All in favor. Motion carried. Resolution No. 158 declared duly adopted. P~esolution No. 159 was read, This is a resolution canvassing the ballots for the gBneral election held November 3, 1970. Resolution No. 159 declared duly adopted/ i~ 1 1 ~~5 Liquor license applications were presented for approval. A letter was read from Police Chief Sanders concerning the applications, stating that there-had been no problems with any of the applicants: Economy Market, Faber~s Super Market, Pioneer Cafe,.Corner Club, Van Wey~s Market, Central Point Grocery and Pay-N-Save. Motion made by Tonn, second by Hadley to approve the applications presented. All in favor. Motion carried.. The bills were presented for approval. Mr. Tucker stated that the bill from Medford Printing Co. for the advertisement on the bond issue for the fire truck should be paid from the contingency fund and then be repaid when the bonds are sold. Potion by Hill, second by Tonn to approve the bills presented. All in favor. Motion carried. ~ Councilman Hill conunended Mr. Tucker for a fine job done while r~ serving as City Administrator for the City. A motion was made from ~ all the councilmen and the mayor commending Mr. Tucker. ~ Attorney Mansfield also commended Mr. Tucker for a very efficient. job done for the city. A motion was made by Almquist, second by Hadley to cancel the scheduled meeting of November 10, 1970 and continue the adjourned Meeting November 24, 1970. All in favor. Motion carried.
