Temporary Closure of Pine Street XIV. .T®U 1VIE1~T This meeting will be held by telephone from the City Recorders office specifically to approve the closure of Pine Street for construction purposes. A regularly scheduled Council Meeting will not occur until after the construction is complete. ~- Parks uA®c ®rs epainent ~' _.'- STAFF REPORT matt Samitore, Interim Director ATIE: JULY 6, 2010 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL FR MATT SAMITORE, INTERIM DIRECTOR SUBJECT: Temporary Street Closure on E. Pine Street. SUMMARY: The City received funding through the American Recovery Act (ARA) in 2009 to overlay East Pine from Second Street to Ninth Street. The award to complete the job was bid through the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and awarded to Knife River. On the nights of July 14t and 15t" Knife River will be closing E. Pine from 10t" to 1St to grind the street then place the asphalt inlay. All construction will occur in the evening hours after 9:00 PM and be complete by 4:00 AM. The grinding will occur on the night. of the 14t". This will mean that E. Pine will have a rough driving surface during the day on the 15t". That night the inlay overlay will occur. Permanent striping wilt not be put in place until one week later. Detours will occur on Manzanita and Oak Streets for vehicular traffic. Trucks and larger vehicles will be directed to use 10t" Street and Highway 99 for alternate routes. RECOMMENDED MOTION: Motion to approve the temporary street closure of E. Pine Street on July 14t" and 15t" between the hours of 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. for construction purposes. 140 S.
