A combination barn, machine
shed, chi~cl~en coal with small
attached living quartexs was raz-
ed by fine late Wednesday after-
noon on the C. B. Cordy fax•tn
home one-half mile ~wes•t of Cent-
ral Point on Beall Lane.
Four trucl~,, from the Central
Paaint .rural fire. department with
16 firemen ;responded to the late
afternoon alarm,
Rural Fire Chief Riohard Krupp
reported that firemen were able
to save part of~ the chicken coop
and to prevent the farm home
from catching fife. Embers from
the !burning barn were smould-
ering on the house roof when
firemen arrived.
Local volunteer firemen were
uelayed ~ in answering the alarm
because the original report was
called to the Medford distxict.
Lbss, although not determined
at this time, was belived to be
heavy. In addition to the build-
angs, several pieces of machinery
and a quantity of hay was de-
stroyed by flames.
