The city council passed an ordin-
ance Monday evetling providing -for
a new system of house numbering
for the city. The plan- provides for
dividing the city into .north and
south districts, with .Pine street tips
the -base street or starting point.
Thus aLl buildings on streets curl=
ning -north -and south will have

4n the east and west streets the ~

'(highway} and run east- and west,
with the.. same allowance of 100
numbers to the Mock. Tn all cases

right hand side of the streets anti
odd numbers on the left. Thus a
house hiving number- 320, vaurel
street, for instance, would be on
the right hand side of Laurel street

new ordinance required some re-
writing before being entered in tine
books, we tvere unable to publish
