small attendance present. Reports

coriEern is still growing rapidly.
Last year the records showed 30~,-
813 telephone calls were handled .by
the local eice'~ange. This year the
figur is. 126,481, an increase of 20 -
648, which is a lot of talking in any-
body's language. There are at the
present time 417 phones 'on the local
lines.
Nine.full and par4time operators
are.now employed at the local office. `
The- meeting Monday night voted to ;
extend the hours of service at thei
exc'~ange to midnight with no extra
charge, instead of 16 o'clock as ct
present. This will be a seven-day
added.service and may require an•
other operator. Besides the opera-
t6rs employed fwo. full-time outside
men.are no~employedror line and
service work.
The meeting also ~droted to pur~
chase a new service truck For the
use of the company.^ All of the old
officers were re-elected-Arnold
Bohnert, president; Bob Kincaid.
vice president; and "$ert Peck
secretary-treasurer. Directors are
Otto Bohnert, Ray Wyakt, E. P i
Stone and C. H. Taylor.
The annual assessment was fixes
at $9 for the first six months. In
case conditions permit the assess- j
ment may be reduced for the last
half of the year. This is the "base
rate" for all ordinary residence,
p'~ones, with a Higher rate for;
single-party. lines_ and ' business
phones. This is somewhat higher
