busy and after making a thorough in-
vestigation of the neighborhood and

ing this Mre. Lesmeister stood gnaid

gun io take a shot at the first burglar
appearing. Next morning^rt was dis-
covered that the store was really en-

whether the robbery was committed
while the marshal was being awakened

A similar burglary was pulled off at
Ashland Monday night and so far no I
clue has keen found. The burgles
were evidently experienced and nervy
yeggmen as the jewelry was Laken
from the front show window with
bright electric lights turned on. ,

After a brief illneae; M. M. Clark
passed away at hip kome in this city '
Wednesday morning. Mr. and Mre.
Clark but recently came into our midst
from Cantrel Point where they had
made thefr home far several years, and
deciding to make this their permanent

While Mr. Clark was not a strong
man, owing to his advanced age of 78
yens, until recently his condition was I
not considered serious. He was a veb ,

Mr. Clark leaves a wife and five sons

whose ill health prevented him coming.
The funecal services were held in Che
Methodist church on Thursday, Rev.
F.cakina conducting the services. In-
terment wee made in the Pine Grove
