attissiou has definitely decided to
build a new cut-ofi between Oeittral
Point and dVledford, following the
proposed rout parallel to the, 8auth-
ern Pacific ~ railroad.
• ,At the heaf•ing,. held here recently,
this route was explained in detail
and although some opposition vitas
made to moving the present highway,
the Commission was ttnanimoualy in
favor of following the railroad to a
point near the Owen-tlregon proper-
ty, whence the route turns eastward
in a long curve to iittereect the pres-
ent highways near the eud of 'North
Rivet•side stvenue.
Coutraets will be let for this con-
struction of the new highway at the
regular meeting of the Cottttnlasion,
Aecetttber 1~4.
The present hightivay will not be
abandoned, but will be turned over
to the county attd will be maintained
by the county court, itt~tead of tltq
state, '
