Bade were in town g~texday !poking over the new water ~~~en~~ which will soon be ready to turn over to the city. Some unavoidable delay was caused by the breaking of a couple of T-joints which being of a peculiar size and shape were not obtainable here and had to be or- dered from the east. This difficulty- has been removed, however, and were it not for some apparent defect in the motor the plant would now be ready far final acceptance. The motor has shown a tendency to-heat and it was at first thought possible that a mistake had been made at the factory and the machine marked and billed out as being of higher power than it was capable of. Experts who have examined it, how- ever, declare that the pump working at full speed does not overload the motor, but as yet they have not diseowtred the cause of the trouble.
