Work on the setiver system is pra-~ gressing rapidly and at this time it is almost an even bet that one street is h as badly blocked with ditches and dirt n (meaning earth) as any other street. ° This condition is unavoidable at times t~ in a rapidly growing city w'ftere such p extensive improvements are being n pushed with all possible speed. ~ t' The manholes on Pine street have t been completed and the ditch filled with water to settle the loose earth t' firmly as the back-fillingproceeds.
