The .phenomenal growth of the
Central Point Schools has note
reached the high level of 887 pli=.
pits. There ate 681 in the elemen-
tary school and 260 in ,the high
school. There have been SO new'
pupils enter since the second wcok
of schoel and 29 have left slope
school began. Grades 3, 4, 5 aro
overcrowdgd, with the worst condl-
tipn in Gnde 5 where two teachers
aro handling' 89 pupils, Lack of
additional classroom sp{tco has stood
in the way of r•clieving this sttua-
tio_n. Present large classos in grndea

tbuilding which was originally plan-
ned for I60; now is housbig over

grade expected. for next year, there

Census takers are busy in all-parts

Friendship night was the occasion
of a pleasarvt dinner party at Job's .
Daughters Wednesday night and
was well attended. both by Daug}t-
ters of -the local Bethel "and visitors
from Ashland, "Medford and Middle
