If things get more congested in
city business the council is going to
have to arrange to tneet Avery even-
ing. During the month of May they
held SIX meetings, besides one ~jaint
meeting at the Mon.Desir one noon
and ahother noon meeting this week.
Might as lveli make a day of it,
fellers, and earn your princely re-
muneration.

We understand that the Medfor3
city council endorsed the new plan
for a contract with this city allow-
ing us to hitch onto the Medford
pipe line to the Camp Whife sewage
disposal plant. Now all that is
' necessary is to get a formal contract
drawn up and signed by the two sets
of officials and then arrange for a
new bond election calling for $80,-
000 instead of the X70,000 formerly
voted- Then when the bonds are
formally approved by the bond
attorneys and sold, a contract can be
let to lay the pipe and put in the
necessary pumping plant. It's a
long drawn-out affaie•, you know,
but ean't be':~.
This writer is enclined to think
that the new plan is a very wise one
for this city to follow. We are aware
that it will cost money, real money,
each yaer. But what about ~!~e
years we sneaked off with paying
nothing? Qur sins have caught up
with us, that's all- And we believe
that the amount we will gay to the
_ ._ city of Medford is entirely fair, con-
sidering that we are buying an in-
terest in the main pipe line frorr
Four Corners to the plant and a
perpetual right to treatment at t'ie,
big plant of more savage than th:;
city is likely to have for many year'
to come-if ever. `
