A RESOLUTION APPROVING A LETTER OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
CENTRAL POINT AND ROGUE RIVER VFW POST 4116 AUTHORIZING THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF A WAR MEMORIAL ON THE DON JONES PARK PROPERTY FOR
AT LEAST TWENTY YEARS FOLLOWING ITS CONSTRUCTION
SUBJECT TO POSITIVE CITIZEN INPUT
This motion was presented as a resolution by Oregon Veterans and Memorial Committee. Letter
of agreement is attached.

Whereas, citizens of Central Point honor and respect all Americans who have served the State of
Oregon and the United States of America as members of our armed forces; and
Whereas, citizens of Central Point desire to show their honor and respect for Oregon's fallen heroes by
establishing a war memorial as an integral part of the Don Jones Park; and
Whereas, southern Oregon veterans, and especially the members of VFW Post 4116, desire to honor
and respect their fallen brothers and sisters-in-arms, who have paid the price of a free nation with the
sacrifice of their blood and their lives;
Now, therefore, the City of Central Point and the Rogue River VFW Post 4116 agree as follows:
Central Point shall provide the location and maintenance of a war memorial on the City's property
known as Don Jones Park for a period of not less than 20 years from the date of the memorial's
completion. VFW Post 4116 shall sponsor the project and manage memorial funds to construct said war
memorial on property allocated by the City in Don Jones Park.
Dated effective this Day of December, 2007.
