E nm of rho firsts belief, mid
havo advocated in the past, along
with meet' other tax payers, lu-
chading somo members of !ho
preaont ndministrntion and the
two proccdtng onus, that the of-
fice of city recorder eltouid be
apppohttlva htstond of an elcc-
tlva office. i would piece the
cost of this office on a com-
petitive basis, and the mayor
and c#ty eouttcQ would hove
more coartroi of the office. I am
auto tha8 the office, with its
limited spoc~ed duties, could be
filled on a part time basks with
possibly not over $100 a month
expense. For inatarlce, Jackson-
ville with only About 000 less
population, Y balimve pays for
the office of rncordor $80.00 pot
month. Thfa would be quite a
sulistantiai amving to rho city in
cooppareion to rho peiaraent cost
oY the office.
I believe that somo sort of
move by the peaseatt adminlstra-
tlon to make 4his change has
boon made. I personally think
that this would be a very oam-
mendnhio net of the adm[nlatra-
ti'on item a do[iar savings stand-

I think the mayor and city
duds should bo eongrntulatod an
their hiring an oflciont, court-
ootas, seat pleasant office girt !n

l have bean wondering for a
long ibne and i will have to
_~
agree with our writer on certain
pra6lems. % have been wonder-
ing for a long time it the people
would ever wake up, not only on
our city affaies, but also on our
county and state affairs.
To refer to our elEy problems,
I thank there is quite some room
for somo improvement ,put
in more.tim@ at things that need
to ba dons lfnstead of so much
time at the coffee counter.
I havo been wondering if there
couldn't bo more done on some
of our streets than there has
been done. It seems as long as
we sit and say nothing, they
just spend our money lust the
same. I pay my taxes, but tt is
n struggle sometimes to moot
them. I have been wondering
how Choy expect such peopli+ as
myself 4o meat all requirements
with no income except what %
work tor.
It !9 tints people ere gottlnR
thou oyes open.
It seems to me some of our
money has been spent and hasn't
done us much good. For Instance,
that $800 sweeper bought with
otar money seems like a total
loss. It doesn't appeal to ma to
lust look nt. There can be one
bought for $0 or =10 which would
servo rho purpose, only it would
require n little elbow strength.
f would like to see soma co-
opcrntlon with rho people of the
city as volt ns our councilman,
Only Inst spring I asked for
some cooperation feom the city
councilman on the dog problem.
Whmt did I get ,nothing,
So, my clti~en stttxpayars,
please pay more attention.
