That the item of a liberal appropria-
tionfor anew depot at Central point is
~ included in the' 1914 Southern Pacific
budget fur expenditures for -improve-
ments in 191] is the cheering news that
~om~ -~frasm t'oiundr~-ti~in-a mat
few days. While the announeetnent
has not yet been made officially nor is
the amount of the appropriation known
the information comes from a source
the relihbility of which is unquestioned
and it may safely bs assumed that the
improvement will be`a substantial one
`and in beeping with- the present anti
future demands of the town.
The business of the local o#fZes has
b®en growing~at a wonderful ra~b the
past summer, It being t3nd~~stood that
some months of ~ the Ares®nt gear show
an increase of several thousand dollars
over the corresponding rs~o~ath of last
year.
It is understood the commercial club
has talcen up the matter with the railp
road •officials 'with a view to having the
location of the depot ehanged~ from the
middle of th® street, when®' it now
atatade, to a point farclrer Werth. Tt is
probable the right of way will also bs
filled and at laa;st a portion of it wads
into~an attractly® park,
